MESSAGE FROM TOWN SUPERVISOR CHRIS KOETZLE
Glenville Declares Snow Emergency
Recent forecasts indicate that we should expect significant snow accumulation throughout today into tomorrow. Some models have projected accumulations of between 6 and 10 inches with gusting winds. The snow mixed with rain will be heavy at times which can cause trees and wires to come down and delay our snow plowing task.
Residents should be prepared for potentially difficult travel and should plan accordingly. Further, as a reminder under town code, there is no overnight parking on Glenville roads between October and May. This is important because it helps our Highway Department remove snow and ice quickly and efficiently and allows for emergency services to better respond to calls. Cars parked in the road are a danger and prevent proper clearing of those roads.
Therefore, effective Friday, March 02, 2018 from 12 pm through Saturday, March 3, 2018 12 pm, I have declared a snow emergency throughout the town of Glenville. This means that we ask that you limit your travel and all on-street parking is prohibited during this time. If your car is parked on the road during the snow emergency - at any time of day - you may be ticketed and/or towed.
